Dictatorship - Truth or Fiction?

Ralph Nader correctly calls our political system a "dictatorship." The bipartisan two-party monopoly dictates the candidates in every electoral contest from local town clerk to President of the United States. Many elections have just one candidate on the ballot or no competition from the other bipartisan two-party candidate. The other bipartisan candidate is a placeholder candidate. Experts of all kinds on the 2000 elections characterized only 25 of 435 congressional races as "competitive." The rest were considered as "no contest" for the bipartisan incumbent. Every election since has been the same. Everyone knows who will win 99% of all elections long before election day.  That is a dictatorship here or anywhere on the planet earth.

No Competition: Election laws in every state jurisdiction erect constant barriers against any voice other than the bipartisan two-party monopoly being heard in political discourse. On every level, the bipartisan two-party monopoly blocks our constitutional right to free association and assembly, as well as our right to petition our governments for grievances. They do it legally through local ordinances and state law. The most common grievance against the bipartisan two-party monopoly is having elections conducted with no competitive choices allowed.

My twenty years in nonpartisan independent and minor party politics tells me the above statements are all true. There are fifty states and fifty different sets of hoops to jump through. The roadblocks are set up on a perpendicular slope. To compete against the bipartisan "dictatorship" you have to climb straight up for years to make a dent in the system. Any ballot access gains made by minor parties last only one or two years until the next monopoly controlled bipartisan election. (Top of Page)

Under current law, the petition grind is necessary every one or two years to maintain ballot access. As a result the bipartisan political dictatorship is maintained by wearing down all political opposition with tedious difficult work. With few victories possible, effective competition is eliminated.

No one is executed or put in prison for political crimes but the effect is the same. We have bipartisan two-party monopoly control of our lives for the benefit of big money political contributors, the 0.1 of 1.0% financial minority.

Government is ruled for the bipartisan benefit of two political parties, not for the benefit of our people. (Top of Page)

Do you want to breathe the sweet air of freedom or do you want to maintain our bipartisan dictatorship? Vote for freedom. If not you, who? If not now, when?

A Footnote: In the Summer of 2000, on Larry King Live, several well-known Democrats and Republicans were singing the praises of our bipartisan two-party system. Jesse Ventura, Minor Party Governor of Minnesota, made a statement to support minor parties and multi-party government. In matters of the vote he said, "We have one more choice than Russia" [under Communist one-party rule in the USSR]. Thank you Jesse for your point-blank wisdom.

[Note: Nearly 100% of our bipartisan elections are "non-competitive," so we usually have only one choice, just like Soviet Communist Russia. Also, our incumbent re-election rate is 99+% and in Soviet Communist Russia, a known dictatorship, the incumbent re-election rate was 86%. Their dictatorship had just a little more opportunity for flexible leadership.]

In every advanced country with multi-party governments the voter turnout is very high, over 70% and as high as 90%. Our people, especially the young, know they are not represented and they do not vote. Our bipartisan governments are bought by special interests. Everyone knows.

Our young people are indifferent to bipartisan politics for good reason. They simply know they have no voice in governments controlled by the bipartisan two-party monopoly.

We would have a nonpartisan independent, minor party political system if we did not live in a bipartisan political dictatorship. 80% of us are nonpartisan and want a change. Trouble is, we simply are not aware of all the other nonpartisan independents, 80%, that surround our daily lives. (Top of Page)

I Pledge to be Self Term-Limited to Two Terms in Office: Four Years

To preserve freedom and our democratic republic we must elect new people to public office, as often as possible, and with as many newly elected private citizens as possible.

Elect "Rich." You win. We all win. Rich is on your ballot for KY District Three Representative to the U.S. Congress on November 06, 2018. You must be proactive in this election campaign to have your voice heard in the U.S. Congress.

Elect nonpartisan independent candidates on your ballot. We all win if you apply term limits in the voting booth to all Incumbent public office holders. Career politicians do harm to our dreams of freedom and a democratic republic. As the years pass, incumbent politicians serve only their political party and other special interests that support their personal political ambitions.
