Minimum Untaxable Wages

Excerpt from The Overdue Voter Revolution, a pamphlet written by RICH STEVENSON

By legislative definition, a "poor" person or family has to spend their entire earnings on basic necessities. Under whatever tax system we have, there should be no income tax on earnings needed to buy basic necessities. $24,960 ($12 per hour) is "working poor" for an adult with two children. 9 The basic 1996 Federal income tax for that head of household is $1,714 on a taxable income of $11,410. The amount left is $23,246, $1,937.17 per month for three people, with nothing deducted for Social Security tax (5.9%), Medicare tax, state tax, local tax, sales tax, health insurance (premiums, deductibles, and co-insurance), car insurance, education, retirement, savings, transportation, food, housing, and clothing. One person in Washington, DC, former President Bill Clinton, 1993 to 2001, declared these to be "high wages"  even though the family is classed as a "working poor" family. 9

...

In the interest of social stability, we need to rescue our people from the need to be criminals to survive. We could establish a Minimum Untaxable Earnings level within which people have a chance to save and work hard to better themselves without government assistance. $8 to $10 per hour would be a good place to start. $16,640 to $20,800 would be tax-free income. The highest possible untaxable income would be best. Dependent tax exemptions would not be allowed at any income level. Say "Good-bye" EIC? Love should be the main incentive to bring children into our overcrowded world, not the economic needs of potential parents.

The only income tax returns necessary for personal or business incomes at the untaxable level would contain one number, gross income, and one signature, the taxpayer's, in simple affidavit form.

To replace any lost revenue we could increase corporate taxes or upper level individual income taxes toward the levels of the 1950's.

I Pledge to be Self Term-Limited to Two Terms in Office: Four Years

RICH STEVENSON, dist1oh@cs2pr.us

-----------------------------------------------

To preserve freedom and our democratic republic we must elect new people to public office, as often as possible, and with as many newly elected private citizens as possible.

Elect "Rich." You win. We all win. Rich is on your ballot for OH District One Representative to the U.S. Congress on November 06, 2012. Your non-partisan voice will be heard in the U.S. Congress.

Elect non-partisan independent candidates on your ballot. We all win if you apply term limits in the voting booth to all Incumbent public office holders. Career politicians do harm to our dreams of freedom and a democratic republic. As the years pass, incumbent politicians serve only their political party and other special interests that support their personal political ambitions.
