ELECTION DAY: November 06, 2012 RICH STEVENSON CANDIDATE FOR OH 1 US CONGRESS |
|
The Incumbent's Money — 12 Years http://www.opensecrets.org is the source of my detailed information on campaign finance dollars. This is the most comprehensive source on the Internet known to me. There are other sources. Take a look around for yourself. I will respect your conclusions. Steve Chabot was first elected to Congress in 1994. He was in Congress for 14 years at the end of his term in 2008. He was voted out. He was replaced by another career political incumbent, Steve Dreihaus. In each election Chabot was able to get over $1,000,000 in campaign funds to play with. In a tough race he would very likely get unlimited funds with the help of the Republican National Committee (RNC). He had voted (said) yes for so many people over the years, for people who gave him his campaign money. For sale. The best Congress money can buy! Chabot is there. The new Steve, Driehaus is there also. Career incumbents "go along to get along" with their party. Bad guys? No. That is just the way it is in Washington DC, and in Columbus, Ohio, our Capitals. They accept corruption we find intolerable. Business
as Usual: Investors
put their money in to a sure thing. An investor looks to one outcome, income.
Chabot and Driehaus deliver. Chabot/Driehaus are not a giveaway program. Investors get hard cash in
return for their money. The RNC, with Chabot's help, and the DNC, with
Driehaus's help, deliver your tax dollars
to contributors. In
general, Chabot has been a politician all of his life. He makes a show of
"populism" with his "homey" plastic cups and vast fields of
yard signs. We never see the real Chabot, at home, in Washington DC. Driehaus is
a younger version. What
would you do to get $160,000 every year in a job where you and your co-workers
can vote a pay raise for yourselves at 2am, out of public sight, whenever you want.
That must be fun. Some
of the people we most respect take a vow of poverty to live for good values. If
that is not a good idea for politicians, then at least they could at least do
everything possible to avoid the
appearance of corruption. If
you elect RICH, he will not be there long enough to become corrupted. He will
move back home in four years, or less, to his home in District One. If he does not come home, vote
for another person to replace him. You will get better government if you do. No
one is irreplaceable. What
would you do to get $1,000,000 in funny money every two years to play with. Plus
your Congressional staff budget is nearly $1,000,000 to build a minor little fiefdom.
And do not forget the large guaranteed raises, as long as you manage to be re-elected. Steve
(Chabot) said it was all about money. I say it should be all about a balanced budget and
term limits for all Incumbents. Vote for "Rich."
Rich does not owe favors to any party or campaign contributor. |

I Pledge to be Self Term-Limited to Two Terms in Office: Four Years RICH STEVENSON, dist1oh@cs2pr.us ----------------------------------------------- To preserve fragile freedom and our democratic republic we must elect new people to public office, as often as possible, and with as many newly elected private citizens as possible. When elected, Rich will work night and day for a more democratic republic. Vote for "Rich." You win. Rich will be on your ballot for OH District One Representative to the US Congress in November 2012. Elect non-partisan independent candidates on your ballot. We all win if you apply term limits in the voting booth to all Incumbent public office holders. Career politicians do harm to our dreams of freedom and a democratic republic. As the years pass, career politicians serve only their political party and other special interests that support their personal political ambitions. Town
